Description
The VK1100A is a compact Ethernet-based control box designed to centralize device control and automation in meeting rooms and facility environments. It provides a dedicated onboard processor and memory to run custom GUIs and control logic for AV equipment and building systems. The unit supports multiuser access and real-time status reporting to streamline daily operations.
Key features include a quad-core CPU and 512MB SDRAM to manage complex control projects, an 8GB flash for project files, and Gigabit LAN for responsive network communication. The controller supports IR learning, USB project upload, programmable RS-232/422/485 ports, relay outputs, and digital I/O to interface with a wide range of third-party devices. Built-in protocol support includes KNX IP, Modbus, ONVIF, SNMP, and secure network protocols such as SSH and HTTPS.
Performance is optimized for multiuser environments and high-load events, offering real-time response and status updates. The VK1100A supports TCP/UDP/Telnet/WebSocket/PJLink and other control protocols, enabling deterministic command delivery and integration with IT management via SNMP. It also supports IEEE 802.1x authentication for enhanced network security and provides project file backup to protect configuration data.
Connectivity covers a broad set of interfaces: programmable bi-directional RS-232/422/485, bi-directional RS-232, two programmable IR/uni-directional RS-232 ports, four relay channels, two digital I/O channels, Gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet, USB Type-A, and a 12 VDC output port. The unit integrates with ATEN Unizon for centralized monitoring and management and exposes a Web GUI for configuration and a Web Viewer for third-party web consoles. IR learning and Pronto code support simplify adding IR drivers for consumer AV devices.
The VK1100A is suited to enterprise scale deployments such as corporate boardrooms, lecture halls, healthcare facilities, government complexes, and military installations. It enables centralized control and mass device management while providing localized room control via mobile devices, ATEN touch panels, and keypads. Two mobile control licenses are included and additional licenses can be provisioned to support larger deployments.
Installation is straightforward with a compact metal housing, LED status indicators, a single 12 VDC output, and standard terminal block connectors for serial, IR, relay, and I/O wiring. A Web GUI and USB project upload simplify commissioning and firmware updates, while the device operates across a wide ambient range and low power consumption. Rugged construction and secure protocol support make it practical for long-term, managed AV/IT installations.
