The CS1182DP4 is a 2-port USB DisplayPort secure KVM switch designed to provide strong isolation between connected computer systems – it shares a single keyboard, mouse, monitor and speaker between two hosts while enforcing strict security controls. It is NIAP Common Criteria compliant and certified to PSD PP v4.0 to meet modern protection profile requirements. The unit is built to render connected assets inoperable if physical tampering is detected.
Key features include always-on chassis intrusion detection, non-reprogrammable firmware and tamper-evident labels to ensure integrity of the device – port switching is limited to front-panel pushbuttons or an external Remote Port Selector to minimize attack surface. Device filtration is configurable by administrators to restrict USB HID devices and prevent unauthorized peripherals from connecting. Audio is strictly filtered and only analog speaker output is supported to avoid audio leakage across domains.
On the performance side the switch supports console video output up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and includes ATEN Video DynaSync technology to optimize resolutions when switching between sources. Keyboard and mouse input is emulated over USB and user data from HID devices is automatically deleted after transmission and on focus change to prevent residual data retention. The device enforces unidirectional data flow and true data path isolation so data cannot be transferred between connected computers.
Connectivity comprises a DisplayPort console output, USB Type-A console ports, front-panel mini stereo jack for speaker output and two sets of KVM ports for DisplayPort, USB Type-B and stereo audio. Power is supplied via a 3-prong AC socket and a rear RJ-11 jack is available for an optional Remote Port Selector (sold separately). LED indicators provide clear status for power, selected port, video and key lock/filter states.
