The NHD-USB-TRX is a USB 2.0 over IP transceiver designed to extend USB peripherals across Ethernet and fiber networks – it enables remote connectivity for keyboards, mice, cameras and other USB devices. This unit supports both point-to-point and one-to-many topologies and operates natively with the WyreStorm NetworkHD 500 series. The transceiver design and DIP switch selection allow a single model to act as a transmitter or receiver which simplifies inventory and system planning.
Key features include a built-in two-level USB hub that supports up to 7 USB devices and up to 21 endpoints across the network – enabling centralized device sharing and remote access. The device supports KM over IP for low-latency keyboard and mouse control and roaming for control room and collaborative environments. PoE power and SFP fiber connectivity provide installation flexibility for mixed copper and fiber infrastructures.
Technical performance is engineered for reliability and predictable operation – the unit transmits USB 2.0 over IP while exposing USB 3.2 physical connectors as specified in the product data. Power options include 12V DC or PoE+ and the device reports low idle power consumption and defined full-load consumption values. Environmental ratings include standard operating and storage temperature ranges and ESD protection to safeguard connected peripherals and the unit itself.
Connectivity covers 1x RJ45 PoE+ LAN port and SFP fiber support for long-distance links – local USB host and device ports enable direct attachment and hub expansion. Control is provided via a DIP switch for TX/RX configuration, the NHD-CTL-PRO v2 utility, and a Telnet API for integration into networked control systems. Security features include HTTPS, SSH and support for 802.1X authentication to meet enterprise and government network policies.
