The WP-789T is an HDBaseT wall plate transmitter designed to send HDMI video and control signals over a single Category cable. It installs into a standard US 1-gang wall box and provides a clean, in-wall connection point for HDMI sources. The unit supports HDMI 2.0 features to preserve modern video and audio formats.
This wall plate transmitter extends UHD 4K60 signals up to 130ft and 1080p signals up to 230ft over Cat6 or better cable. It supports HDCP 1.4 and 2.2, EDID pass-through, CEC, deep color and 4:2:0 color sampling. The plate also carries uncompressed HDMI audio including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD formats and up to 32 embedded audio channels.
For control and integration the WP-789T includes a 2-pin terminal block for IR and a 3-pin terminal block for RS-232 that are transmitted over HDBaseT alongside video. The transmitter auto-detects PoE/PoH and can either supply or receive power over the HDBaseT link using PoH 802.3at. A 12 VDC/2 A power supply is provided to power the transmitter locally when required.
Connectivity includes one HDMI 2.0 input and one RJ45 HDBaseT output, plus the IR and RS-232 control blocks. The unit interoperates with standard HDBaseT receivers and extension products and supports recommended twisted-pair cable types for optimal reach. EDID pass-through preserves source-display communication to ensure reliable plug-and-play operation.
Typical installation scenarios include wall- or podium-mounted source connections in classrooms, conference rooms, hotels, and corporate facilities. The compact 1-gang footprint integrates with room decor and allows discreet placement of source connections. The device is engineered to simplify AV distribution and control in fixed installation environments.
Installation is straightforward using a single Cat6 or higher cable that delivers video, control and optional PoE power to a remote receiver. The WP-789T includes interchangeable black and white frame sets to match room finishes and features front-panel LEDs for power and connectivity troubleshooting. The metal wall plate housing and standard mounting profile provide reliable long-term performance in installed systems.
