The WP-2UT/R-KIT is a wall-plate USB 2.0 extender kit that extends USB 2.0 signals, RS-232 and two-way power over a single twisted-pair CAT cable. The kit includes a 1-gang wall-plate transmitter and a compact receiver to enable USB connectivity up to extended distances. It supports USB 1.1 and 2.0 device types and provides plug-and-play operation for most USB peripherals.
The extender kit supports USB interrupt, bulk and isochronous transfers and provides a transmitted data bandwidth of up to 300Mbps and USB data rates up to 480Mbps. The receiver includes a 4-port USB-A hub and the transmitter exposes a USB-B host port so cameras, touch panels, storage devices and HID peripherals can connect remotely. The system also carries bidirectional RS-232 for serial control alongside the USB data link.
Performance specifications include support for shielded UNIKAT cable reach up to 100m 330ft and CAT5e reach up to 30m 100ft. The USB link operates at USB 2.0 speeds with a transmitted usable bandwidth listed at up to 300Mbps. PT-2UR charging delivers up to 2.5A total when the receiver is PSU-powered and up to 0.5A per port when powered via PoC from the transmitter.
Connectivity options include one RJ-45 CAT extension port at each unit, one USB-B host connector on the wall-plate transmitter and four USB-A device ports on the receiver. A 3-pin terminal block provides RS-232 serial passthrough and status LINK and ON LEDs simplify troubleshooting. The receiver is a PicoTOOLS style enclosure suitable for device-adjacent mounting and the transmitter fits a standard US 1-gang in-wall box.
Typical applications include classroom and training installations where cameras and interactive devices must be placed away from the host, conference rooms for room camera and soundbar placement, and medical, manufacturing or corporate environments requiring reliable USB 2.0 extension.
