The VS1828KIT is an 8-output HDMI distribution kit that sends a single HDMI source to eight displays over Cat6 cabling. It supports 4K video at 30 Hz (4:4:4) and lossless multichannel audio formats to preserve source quality across multiple screens. The kit combines a powered splitter and eight palm-sized receivers to simplify multi-display installations.
Key capabilities include support for 4K@30Hz (4:4:4), a built-in HDMI local output for monitoring or cascading, and user-adjustable EDID selection on the splitter to match output resolution and audio capability. Power over Cable (PoC) supplies the receivers from the splitter so only one power adapter is required at the splitter. One-way IR passthrough is provided so the source can be controlled remotely from each receiver location.
Performance metrics include a 10.2 Gbps maximum data rate and a 340 MHz pixel clock for accurate video timing. Transmission distances reach up to 40 m over Cat6 for 4K signals and up to 50 m for 1080p when using recommended cabling. The system is HDCP 1.4 compliant and supports HDMI features such as 3D and Deep Color for broad compatibility.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input on the splitter, one HDMI local output, eight RJ-45 ports to connect to receivers, HDMI outputs on each receiver, mini stereo IR jacks, a locking DC jack on receivers, and a micro USB port on the splitter for firmware upgrades. The splitter supplies PoC power to receivers via RJ-45 so receivers do not require local power. Standard HDMI connectors and RJ-45 cabling ensure compatibility with common AV devices and infrastructure.
This kit is suitable for meeting rooms, digital signage arrays, showrooms, retail displays, and multiroom AV systems where a single source must be shown on multiple screens at high quality. The EDID management and audio format support make it straightforward to deploy across mixed-display environments. One-way IR control and local monitoring further streamline operator workflows.
