The VP-929 4K HDMI Repeater is a compact inline HDMI extender designed to overcome HDMI cable length limits while preserving full HDMI 2.0 signal fidelity. It extends UHD/DCI 4K60 and 1080p signals and passes embedded multichannel audio for clean AV distribution. The unit requires no drivers and operates as a plug-and-play inline repeater for simple deployment.
Key features include support for DCI 4K60 4:4:4 and UHD 4K60, embedded 7.1 surround audio, HDR pass-through, and HDCP 2.2 compliance. The repeater supports up to 18 Gb/s of video bandwidth and provides a power LED for status monitoring. It can be cascaded with additional repeaters to reach extended distances in larger AV runs.
Performance specifications include a 4K extension distance of up to 33ft and 1080p extension distance up to 49ft over passive HDMI cable segments, with cascading enabling total runs up to 197ft. Supported video formats cover 4K and common HD frame rates including 23.98/24/25/29.97/30/50/59.94/60 fps. The device passes 8/10-bit color with 4:4:4 and 4:2:0 sampling as applicable.
Connectivity consists of one HDMI 2.0 input and one HDMI 2.0 output, plus a mini-USB 5 VDC power input for optional external power. The repeater can accept inline power over HDMI when available or use a separate USB power source. EDID is not provided by the unit and HDCP 2.2 is supported for secure content workflows.
Typical applications include point-to-point HDMI runs in classrooms, meeting rooms, small studios, and digital signage where cable length or routing prevents direct connections. It is also suitable for cascading in longer runs in AV distribution chains and for preserving HDR and multichannel audio when extending HDMI links. The small footprint allows discreet placement within AV racks or behind displays.
Installation is straightforward – connect source and display via HDMI and power the unit via inline HDMI power or a 5 V mini-USB supply if required.
