The VP-451 is an 18G 4K HDR digital scaler designed to process HDMI and USB-C video sources and deliver a stable HDMI output. It upscales, downscales, and cross-scales incoming signals to resolutions up to 4K@60 4:4:4, and supports HDR10 and HDCP 2.2/1.4. The unit can follow the sink’s native resolution automatically or be set to a custom fixed output resolution.
The VP-451 provides input auto-switching and fast manual or automatic source selection between USB-C and HDMI inputs. It includes a built-in ProcAmp for color and image adjustments and maintains constant sync on the output even if an input signal is lost or interrupted. Front panel controls include an OSD, input selector, video freeze and resolution reset buttons for quick local operation.
Performance highlights include 18G bandwidth, support for 4K60 4:4:4 content, HDR10 processing, and HDCP 2.2/1.4 compatibility. The scaler performs real-time scaling operations and preserves image integrity across upscaling and downscaling operations. A hardware ProcAmp enables precise color, contrast, and brightness adjustments for consistent output quality.
Connectivity options cover HDMI inputs and a USB Type-C input that also provides up to 60W of USB-C power. The unit supports analog audio embedding from an unbalanced input and balanced analog audio extraction on the output. It also supports CEC for automatic display power control and provides a contact-closure connector for remote source switching.
The VP-451 is suitable for boardrooms, classrooms, huddle spaces, digital signage, and AV integration scenarios where mixed-signal sources must be standardized to a single HDMI output. It is effective in fixed-install and portable deployments where source switching and image scaling are required. The combination of HDR support, audio embedding/de-embedding, and USB-C power support simplifies integration in modern AV systems.
Installation is simplified by the compact MegaTOOLS fan-less enclosure that supports surface mounting or side-by-side mounting of two units in a 1U rack space with the recommended adapter. Local firmware upgrade via the USB Type-A port allows field updates and ensures long-term maintainability.
