The VM8584K1 is a 4-port 10G optical output board designed to deliver uncompressed HDMI video and control signals over duplex multimode fiber. It is a modular I/O board that fits ATEN VM series modular matrix switches and provides long-distance HDMI distribution with interference-free fiber transmission. The board supports 4K resolutions and preserves signal integrity across extended runs.
This output board supports up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz in 4:2:0 and provides a 10.2 Gbps data path to maintain HDMI features such as 3D and Deep Color. It includes bi-directional RS-232 and IR channels for device control and supports HDCP 2.2 and CEC. FrameSync and scaling features are available when paired with the compatible VE883AR receiver to prevent tearing and optimize display resolutions.
Performance is optimized for long-distance transmission using SFP+ fiber modules. The VM8584K1 uses 850 nm multimode SFP+ modules to extend 4K signals up to 300 m over OM3 fiber while maintaining a 340 MHz pixel clock capability. The board meets HDMI specifications and supports a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps and a max pixel clock of 340 MHz for consistent video delivery.
Connectivity includes four bi-directional SFP+ LC ports for fiber links, four RS-232 captive screw connectors, and four mini stereo IR jacks. LED indicators provide link and status feedback for each channel. The module is hot-swappable for simplified installation and maintenance inside ATEN VM modular matrix systems and is compatible with VM3250, VM3200, and VM1600A series matrices.
Typical applications include digital signage networks, auditoriums, control rooms, and distributed AV systems where long-haul, interference-free 4K transmission and centralized control are required. The module is suitable for setups that need IR and RS-232 device control over the same fiber infrastructure. It enables scalable matrix configurations by mixing modular I/O boards to match system size and interface requirements.
