The VM8514 is a 4-port HDBaseT output board designed to integrate with modular matrix switch systems and distribute HDMI sources over HDBaseT links. It converts HDMI signals to HDBaseT for transmission to compatible receivers and supports high-resolution video up to 4K. The board installs into ATEN modular matrices to expand HDBaseT output capacity.
Key features include four RJ-45 HDBaseT outputs, bi-directional RS-232 control, and bi-directional IR support for remote device control. When paired with ATEN VE805R receivers, the board enables Seamless Switch – near-zero switching time – and configurable video wall layouts via a web GUI. The HDBaseT connection supports anti-jamming measures to maintain stable video delivery over long cable runs.
Performance specifications include a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps and a pixel clock up to 340 MHz. The module supports resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 / 3840 x 2160 at 60Hz using 4:2:0 chroma subsampling and up to 4K at 30Hz with 4:4:4. Maximum HDBaseT link distance reaches 100 m over Cat 6a cabling, preserving audiovisual quality across typical install spans.
Connectivity options cover four RJ-45 HDBaseT outputs, four captive-screw RS-232 ports (3 pole), and four mini stereo IR jacks. The board is compatible with the VM1600 modular matrix chassis and interoperates with VE805R HDBaseT receivers for enhanced functionality. Hot-swappable design allows integration or replacement without powering down the host matrix.
Typical applications include multiroom AV distribution, digital signage networks, conference venues, and video wall installations requiring centralized source management and long-reach connectivity. The module supports seamless switching and configurable video wall profiles to simplify multi-display layouts. Its control channels enable integration with automation and third-party control systems.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the hot-swappable form factor and captive-screw control connectors.
