The VM7584K1 is a 4-port 10G optical input board designed for ATEN modular matrix systems. It converts HDMI sources into SFP+ optical links to extend uncompressed 4K video, audio, IR, and RS-232 control signals over duplex fiber. This board supports long-distance AV distribution while maintaining HDMI feature support and signal integrity.
The module supports a 10.2 Gbps data rate and meets HDMI specifications including 3D and Deep Color. It enables up to 4096 x 2160 resolution at 60Hz using 4:2:0 chroma and supports HDCP 2.2 and CEC. Its SFP+ slots accept optical modules to tailor distance and fiber type to the installation needs.
Performance highlights include a maximum pixel clock of 340 MHz and per-lane bandwidth of 3.4 Gbps. Using multimode OM3 fiber and the K1 SFP+ module, the VM7584K1 delivers 4K@60Hz(4:2:0) up to 300m. The board preserves uncompressed video and forwards IR and RS-232 control channels bi-directionally, processed one direction at a time for IR.
Connectivity includes four bi-directional SFP+ LC interfaces, four captive-screw RS-232 ports, and four mini stereo IR jacks. The board is compatible with ATEN VM3250, VM3200, and VM1600A modular chassis and provides hot-swappable installation. Certain control features require the VE883AT transmitter to be present to function fully.
Typical applications include control rooms, digital signage networks, broadcast ingest, lecture halls, and distributed AV systems that demand fiber distances and HDMI feature support. The VM7584K1 is suited for environments where interference immunity and long-haul signal integrity are required. It supports scalable matrix expansion by mixing I/O boards in the chassis.
