Description
The VM7104 is a 4-port VGA input board designed for use with ATEN modular matrix switch systems. It accepts up to four VGA or component video sources and brings analog video and stereo audio into a modular switching environment. The board is hot-swappable which allows I/O changes without powering down the host unit.
Key features include support for RGBHV, RGBS, YCbCr and YPbPr input formats and stereo audio capture via captive screw connectors. The stereo audio can be embedded into HDMI audio output when combined with compatible output boards. The board supports up to 1920 x 1200 resolution and a video bandwidth of 300 MHz.
Performance specifications include 75 Ohm input impedance, a maximum bandwidth of 300 MHz and a maximum resolution of up to 1920 x 1200. Signal integrity is maintained for short-run analog connections with a recommended maximum distance of 1.8 m for best results. Audio inputs accept stereo balanced or unbalanced signals with specified maximum input/output levels.
Connectivity is provided by four HD15 female video connectors and four captive screw 5-pole audio inputs. Audio signal types supported include stereo balanced and unbalanced modes. The board is compatible with the VM1600 modular matrix chassis and can be mixed with any modular output boards for flexible system configurations.
Typical applications include AV control rooms, lecture halls, conference centers and digital signage where multiple analog sources must be routed to display outputs. The VM7104 is suited to systems that require reliable analog video capture and the option to route embedded audio. It integrates into matrix switching workflows to simplify source management across multiple displays.
Installation is straightforward thanks to the hot-swappable design and metal housing that provides durability in rack environments. The board consumes 7.1 W and operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40°C with storage from -20 to 60°C. Humidity tolerance is rated at 0 – 80% RH non-condensing which supports typical AV equipment room conditions.
