The VM6809H is an 8×9 4K HDMI matrix switcher that routes up to eight HDMI sources to nine displays while providing an integrated scaler for native-resolution output. It supports both 3840 x 2160 and 4096 x 2160 formats and is HDCP 2.2 compatible. The unit is designed to deliver continuous video streams and stable signal transmission across multiple displays.
Key features include a built-in 4K scaler to match input resolutions to display native resolutions, Seamless Switch functionality for near-instant switching, and FPGA-based matrix architecture for reliable real-time control. The device also incorporates EDID Expert to manage EDID settings and FrameSync to prevent image tearing. A web-based GUI enables creation of video wall layouts and storage of connection profiles for rapid recall.
Performance specifications include support for 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160, data rates to 10.2 Gbps, and a maximum pixel clock of 340 MHz. The VM6809H supports 4K@60Hz in 4:2:0 chroma and 4K@30Hz in 4:4:4 chroma per HDMI 2.0 limitations. Inputs and outputs have 100 Ohm impedance and transmission distances up to 15 m on outputs under typical conditions.
Connectivity options cover 8 HDMI inputs and 9 HDMI outputs, a stereo audio extraction jack, RS-232 DB-9 control port, and an RJ-45 Ethernet port for web GUI or Telnet control. EDID modes include Default, Port 1, Remix, and Customized via EDID Wizard. The switcher supports CEC and offers ESD protection on HDMI ports to protect connected devices.
This matrix switcher is ideal for multi-display environments such as stage presentations, classroom AV, video conference rooms, and digital signage installations that require synchronized content across multiple screens. Video wall functionality and 17 customizable connection profiles simplify multi-screen layouts and content distribution. The ability to extract HDMI audio to stereo output also eases integration with external audio systems.
The VM6809H is rack-mountable in a 1U chassis and constructed with a metal housing for durability. Front-panel pushbuttons, RS-232, and Ethernet control provide flexible integration into control systems. Power is rated 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz and the unit includes features to ensure stable power consumption and long-term reliability in professional AV installations.
