Description
The VM51616H is a 16×16 HDMI matrix switcher that routes any of 16 HDMI sources to any of 16 HDMI displays. It includes an integrated high-performance scaler to match input resolutions to display requirements and a front-panel LCD plus a local HDMI preview output. The unit supports stable, real-time switching and centralized control for multi-display installations.
The switcher features an FPGA-based matrix for near-zero switching latency when Seamless Switch is enabled and a built-in scaler to convert input resolutions to optimal output resolutions. It also supports EDID Expert to manage EDID handshakes and FrameSync technology to prevent image tearing by synchronizing output frame rates. The device supports HDMI formats including 3D and Deep Color when Seamless Switch is disabled.
Performance specifications include a maximum data rate of 6.75 Gbps, a maximum pixel clock of 225 MHz and support for HDTV resolutions up to 1080p. HDCP 1.4 compatibility and CEC support are included for compliant consumer devices. Audio is supported over HDMI with extraction to a stereo mini jack and native support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master audio.
Connectivity options include 16 HDMI inputs and 16 HDMI outputs with an additional local HDMI preview output in array mode. Control interfaces consist of front-panel pushbuttons, RS-232 via DB-9 and Ethernet for web GUI or Telnet access. EDID modes include Default, Port1, Remix and Customized using an EDID Wizard to optimize display handshakes.
The VM51616H is suited to environments requiring multi-source distribution such as control rooms, digital signage, conference spaces, transportation hubs and live event venues. It supports customized video wall layouts configurable via an intuitive web GUI and stores up to 32 connection profiles for rapid recall. When Seamless Switch is enabled note that 3D, Deep Color, or interlaced formats may not be supported and displays may require manual adjustments.
The unit is rack-mountable in a 2U chassis with a metal housing designed for sustained operation between 0 and 40°C. Power is supplied via a single 3-prong AC inlet covering 100-240 VAC at 50-60 Hz and includes a rocker power switch. Installation is straightforward with multiple control paths and robust ESD protection on HDMI ports to safeguard connected equipment.
