The VM0808HB is an 8×8 HDMI matrix switcher that routes any of eight HDMI sources to any of eight displays. It supports True 4K resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz with 4:4:4 color sampling. The unit is designed for systems that require full-bandwidth 4K signal distribution and professional switching.
Key features include support for 4K@60Hz (4:4:4), HDCP 2.2 compatibility, and up to 18 Gbps bandwidth per device. The switcher supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master audio formats and includes EDID Expert to manage EDID across mixed displays. Multiple control methods are provided including front-panel buttons, IR remote, RS-232, and web/Telnet via Ethernet.
Performance is optimized with a 600 MHz pixel clock and signaling rates of 6 Gbps per lane, delivering a combined 18 Gbps data rate. The device supports deep color and 3D over HDMI and includes ESD protection on HDMI ports. Firmware is upgradeable to maintain compatibility and add features as needed.
Connectivity covers eight HDMI inputs and eight HDMI outputs using Type A connectors, plus control ports for RS-232, IR, and Ethernet. EDID modes include Default, Port 1, Remix, and Customized via the EDID Wizard. The unit also supports Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) and ATEN LockPro cable lock for secure HDMI connections.
Typical applications include auditoriums, classrooms, event venues, retail digital signage, and corporate AV systems that need flexible 4K signal distribution. The matrix is suitable for mixed-resolution environments where EDID management and HDCP 2.2 compliance are required. It supports reliable audio passthrough for multichannel lossless formats.
