The VM-4HDT is a compact 1:4 HDMI to HDBaseT distribution amplifier designed to deliver a single HDMI source to four HDBaseT receivers. It equalizes and reclocks incoming HDMI signals to preserve digital integrity over long cable runs. This unit supports high resolutions up to 4K UHD and common PC and video formats such as WUXGA and 1080p.
Key features include Kramer Equalization and re-Klocking technology that rebuilds the digital signal for extended distances and reliable operation. The VM-4HDT supports a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps and common HDMI features such as 3D, Deep Color and x.v.Color. It also includes intelligent EDID processing to streamline source and sink communication.
Performance supports resolutions up to 4K UHD including 4K at 60 Hz in 4:2:0 format, WUXGA and 1080p. The unit provides 3D pass-through and complies with HDCP for protected content playback. Range over CATx to HDBaseT receivers is specified to 70 m (230 ft) depending on cable quality and resolution.
Connectivity is straightforward with one HDMI input and four HDBaseT outputs. Control and setup are available via an EDID setup button as well as RS-232 and IR ports for remote control. Front-panel LEDs indicate input status, link status and individual output activity for quick diagnostics.
The VM-4HDT is suitable for presentation systems, digital signage arrays, conference rooms and classrooms where a single HDMI source must feed multiple remote displays. It supports source and display EDID management to help ensure correct resolutions and color formats are negotiated automatically. The product is designed to integrate with standard AV infrastructure and HDBaseT-compatible receivers.
Installation is simplified by the compact MegaTOOLS size which allows two units side-by-side in 1U using an optional RK-T2B rack adapter. The unit operates from a 5 V DC power supply at 800 mA and features robust industrial operating ranges for indoor AV installations. LEDs and standard control interfaces make configuration and monitoring straightforward for integrators and technicians.
