The VM-2D is a compact 1×2 DVI distribution amplifier designed to accept a single HDMI 2.0 source delivered via DVI-I and provide two identical outputs. It supports up to 4K@60Hz using 4:2:0 chroma sampling and maintains HDCP 1.4 compliance. The unit equalizes and reclocks incoming signals to preserve image integrity over extended cable runs.
Key features include single-link DVI-I input and dual DVI-I outputs, Kramer signal equalization and re-Klocking technology, and intelligent EDID processing. The unit supports Deep Color, x.v.Color, Lip Sync, 7.1 PCM and lossless audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Front-panel EDID selection and status LEDs simplify setup and diagnostics.
Performance specifications include a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps total and 3.4 Gbps per graphic channel, with 24bpp color depth at supported resolutions. The device passes EDID between source and displays and enforces HDCP 1.4 for protected content. Firmware updates are performed via a mini-USB connection to keep the unit current in the field.
Connectivity covers one DVI-I input and two DVI-I outputs, lockable connector wiring for secure installations, and a mini-USB port for firmware upgrades. EDID handling is managed by Kramer I-EDIDPro intelligent processing to ensure plug-and-play compatibility across a range of sources and displays. Audio and video formats supported align with HDMI 2.0 and DVI standards.
Typical applications include distributing a single digital video source to two displays in meeting rooms, digital signage and presentation environments, or broadcast monitoring setups. The VM-2D is suitable where identical, synchronized outputs are required with preserved audio formats and HDCP compliance. Installation is straightforward in Kramer TOOLS enclosures or side-by-side rack mounting using the optional RK-3T adapter. The aluminum fanless chassis uses convection cooling and operates on a 5V DC power supply.
