The VM-214DT is a 4K UHD distribution amplifier designed to receive a single HDMI input and deliver identical outputs over HDMI and HDBaseT. It reclocks and equalizes incoming HDMI signals to preserve video integrity across long cable runs. The unit supports up to 4K@60Hz (4:2:0) and is built for professional AV installations where signal reliability matters.
Key capabilities include four HDBaseT outputs plus a looping HDMI output for monitoring or daisy chaining additional DAs. The VM-214DT supports HDCP repeater mode, HDMI Deep Color, x.v.Color and 3D formats to maintain broad compatibility with modern sources and displays. Intelligent EDID handling via I-EDIDPro ensures stable source negotiation and predictable results at power-up.
On the performance side the unit passes 10.2Gbps total bandwidth (3.4Gbps per graphic channel) and provides data equalization and reclocking to extend reach and improve signal quality. Range depends on resolution and cable quality – typical distances are up to 130m (430ft) at 2K and up to 100m at 4K using appropriate HDBaseT cabling. The device also offers an ultra mode enabling up to 180m (590ft) for 1080p@60Hz with BC-HDKat6a cables.
Connectivity includes one HDMI input, one HDMI looping output, four HDBaseT RJ-45 outputs and one HDBaseT input option for additional system topologies. Control and integration options include front panel buttons, lockable EDID presets, RS-232, local and remote IR, and LED indicators for input and output status. The unit also supports automatic live input detection and automatic analog audio detection with de-embedding to local audio outputs if required.
Typical applications include conference rooms, lecture halls and digital signage where a single source must be mirrored to multiple distant displays. The VM-214DT is suitable for cascade configurations and systems requiring EDID management and audio extraction for downstream audio processors. Its HDCP compliance and wide format support make it suitable for mixed-vendor deployments and content-protected sources.
Installation is rack-ready in a standard 1U chassis and ships with rack ears for professional mounting. The aluminum enclosure, forced-air cooling and robust fan design support continuous operation in AV racks. Built-in power handling accepts 100-240V AC and the unit provides simple front-panel controls and clear LED status to speed commissioning and troubleshooting.
