The VE813A is an HDMI HDBaseT extender set that transmits HDMI and USB 2.0 signals over a single Cat5e/6/6a cable. It extends HDMI video up to 100m over Cat6a and supports up to 4K resolutions. The set includes a transmitter and receiver to create a point-to-point extension link.
Key features include HDBaseT extension technology, patented ExtremeUSB for transparent USB 2.0 transfer, and support for HDMI features such as 3D, Deep Color, CEC and HDCP. The unit delivers up to 10.2 Gbps total video bandwidth and a maximum pixel clock of 340 MHz. It also supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio for full multichannel audio transport.
Performance specifications include 4K support to 70m on Cat5e/6 and up to 100m on Cat6a, 1080p to 100m, and support for 4096×2160 or 3840×2160 at 60Hz with 4:2:0 sampling or 30Hz with 4:4:4 sampling. The device handles HDMI data at 10.2 Gbps (3.4 Gbps per lane) and offers an aggregate USB transfer budget up to 40 Mbps for connected devices. The transmitter and receiver maintain signal integrity with anti-jamming HDBaseT technology and built-in 8KV/15KV ESD protection.
Connectivity includes HDMI Type A ports on both ends, one USB Type B on the transmitter, and three USB Type A ports on the receiver for peripherals such as touch panels, keyboards, mice and flash drives. The ExtremeUSB implementation provides transparent plug-and-play operation across Windows, macOS and Linux without additional drivers. Power is delivered via a single DC jack for each unit and the receiver may consume more power when all USB ports are in use.
The VE813A is well suited to applications such as digital signage, medical imaging, control room consoles and interactive displays where long HDMI runs and USB peripheral access are required. It supports synchronized file transfer between portable and desktop systems and can be used to centralize touch control or KVM-like peripheral access in installations. The extender is rack-mountable for equipment room deployment and rack integration.
Installation is straightforward – connect the HDMI source to the transmitter, run a single Cat5e/6/6a cable to the receiver, attach the display and USB devices, and apply power. The metal housings and rack-mount options provide durable mounting and secure installation. The VE813A combines long-reach HDMI extension with USB peripheral transparency to simplify distributed AV deployments and reduce cable complexity.
