The V2Analog is an HD/SD-SDI to analog mini-converter engineered to integrate legacy analog monitors and tape decks into modern digital workflows. It converts incoming SDI signals to component formats such as YPbPr and RGB as well as composite and S-Video outputs. The unit supports both SD and HD formats and retains a full 10-bit data path to preserve image detail.
Key features include a 10-bit digital-to-analog converter, selectable outputs for YPbPr, RGB, Betacam, NTSC/PAL composite and Y/C S-Video, and simple configuration via onboard DIP switches or USB using AJA Mini-Config. The converter accepts standard SMPTE SDI inputs and offers component outputs in SMPTE or EBU-N10 mappings. The design emphasizes compact size and low power consumption for deployment in racks or behind displays.
Supported video formats cover common HD resolutions such as 1080i, 1080p, 1080PsF and 720p across standard frame rates, plus SD 625i and 525i formats. The device uses a full 10-bit processing path to maintain color fidelity and detail during conversion. Note that the V2Analog performs digital-to-analog conversion only and does not up-convert or down-convert between SD and HD resolutions.
Connectivity includes a single HD/SD-SDI BNC input and BNC outputs for HD component, SD component, composite and a separate Y/C S-Video output option. Control is available locally via DIP switch or remotely via USB and AJA Mini-Config for format monitoring and firmware updates. The unit supports standard 5-20 VDC power and an optional universal power supply is available for international use.
Typical use cases include feeding analog monitors during production, routing SDI signals to tape decks for archiving, or converting SDI sources for legacy broadcast routing. The small footprint and locking power connector make the V2Analog suitable for rack mount shelves, back-of-monitor mounting, or on-camera rigging in remote locations. An optional P-TAP cable enables battery operation where mains power is not available.
