The Tavor 8-T is a powered 8-inch ceiling tile speaker designed to deliver broadroom sound coverage and straightforward system integration. It combines a built-in 40W Class D amplifier with a focused transducer array to provide clear speech and music reproduction. The design targets installations requiring even dispersion and simple ceiling tile mounting.
Key features include an 8-inch Kevlar cone woofer and four pivoting titanium tweeters arranged in Kramer K-coverage ESD design to achieve nearly 180deg dispersion. The speaker incorporates a second-level crossover to manage the woofer and tweeter bands and preserve tonal balance at higher output levels. A magnet-held grill with two security screws simplifies service and prevents accidental removal.
Performance specifications include a frequency response that spans 65Hz to 20kHz at -10dB and 80Hz to 20kHz at ±3dB, a sensitivity of 87dB 1W@1m, and continuous max SPL of 102dB. Power handling is rated at 40W RMS with 110W continuous program capability and a crossover point at 2kHz. Directivity metrics average Q 9.43 and DI 9.5dB across 1kHz to 10kHz, supporting focused coverage patterns.
Connectivity is provided via terminal block connectors and three inputs each with independent level controls plus a master volume trimmer. The unit includes a 24V DC power adapter and offers two grille sizes to fit common 600mm tile grids. The speaker is compatible with standard ceiling infrastructure and common conferencing and AV system topologies.
Typical applications include conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, hotels and restaurants where intelligible speech and distributed background music are required. The near 180deg dispersion helps reduce loudspeaker count while maintaining even coverage across tiled ceilings. Its integrated amplification and input trimming make it suitable for centralized or local source deployments.
Installation is designed to be time-efficient with a magnet-held grill and cable holder built into the frame. The construction uses steel frames and grills sized 595x595mm and 605x605mm for compatibility with standard ceiling tiles. Operating limits are 0deg to 40deg C and storage limits extend to -40deg to 70deg C with 10% to 90% relative humidity non-condensing.
