The SX300PIX-W is a passive two-way loudspeaker designed to deliver full-range sound reinforcement in indoor and outdoor environments. It combines a 12 in woofer and a 1 in titanium-diaphragm compression driver to produce a wide 80 Hz to 25 kHz frequency range. The cabinet and grille are weather-resistant to maintain performance in exposed installations – the speaker is suitable for permanent mounts or portable setups.
Key features include a built-in 70.7/100V transformer with multiple taps, a constant-directivity Varipath horn for consistent coverage, and Ring-Mode Decoupling to enhance clarity. The high-frequency section uses a titanium diaphragm and a TimePath phasing plug to smooth high-frequency response. Electro-Voice PRO protection circuitry reduces HF driver power if the input exceeds safe limits, preserving transducer life.
Performance specifications deliver substantial output and clarity: 300 W total passive power handling, 99 dB SPL sensitivity, and a 65 degree horizontal by 65 degree vertical coverage pattern. The crossover point is set at 1500 Hz to optimize driver integration and dispersion. Nominal impedance is 8 Ohms with a 5 Ohms minimum, allowing use with standard amplifiers or constant-voltage systems.
Connectivity is provided by paralleled Euroblock inputs for secure wiring and straightforward connection to 70.7V or 100V amplifier systems. Transformer taps include 50 / 70 / 100 W at 70.7V and 100 / 140 / 200 W at 100V for scalable system design. Mechanical features include an integrated 1.38 in pole socket, a side carry handle, and four M8 fly points for a variety of rigging and mounting options.
Typical applications include PA fill in retail spaces, speech and paging in warehouses, school auditoriums, and sports facilities where weather resistance and constant-voltage operation are required. The speaker’s voicing and horn design maintain intelligibility at wide off-axis angles, which is important for distributed systems and mounted deployments. Installation is straightforward thanks to stacked-friendly geometry, bottom pole socket, multiple fly points, and a rugged polypropylene enclosure with a powder-coated stainless grille.
