The STA-1M is a single-channel mono audio line amplifier designed to bridge, buffer and level-match professional audio lines. It accepts balanced or unbalanced inputs and provides a balanced or unbalanced output while preserving signal integrity. The unit is optimized for installation use where ground loop isolation and impedance conversion are required.
Key features include an instrumentation-type input stage that amplifies the differential input regardless of ground reference, adjustable gain control, and the ability to drive both high- and low-impedance loads. The STA-1M can function as a bridge to avoid loading an existing line and can convert high to low impedance or low to high impedance as needed. RDL SupplyFlex power input allows multiple power configurations for installation flexibility.
Performance specifications deliver professional audio fidelity with THD+N under 0.05% and noise below +4 dBu better than -75 dB. Frequency response is 10 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.25 dB and headroom above +4 dBu exceeds 18 dB. CMRR is greater than 50 dB at full gain in the 50 to 120 Hz range, providing strong common-mode rejection in noisy environments.
Connectivity options include an input that accepts balanced or unbalanced signals at 10 kO and two outputs: 150 O balanced and 75 O unbalanced. The output level is nominally +4 dBu and is adjustable, with the unbalanced output 6 dB below the balanced line level. Power may be supplied as floating 24 Vdc, bipolar ±12/±15 Vdc, or ground-referenced 24 Vdc thanks to the SupplyFlex configuration.
The STA-1M is suited to a range of applications including broadcast racks, live sound tie-lines, and fixed installations where level matching and ground isolation are needed. It provides a compact solution for matching disparate equipment levels and isolating ground loops in distributed audio systems.
