The ST-NG1 is a compact white and pink noise generator designed to provide truly random analog noise across the full audible band. It produces random analog noise from 20 Hz to 20 kHz suitable as a reference source or masking noise. The unit is engineered to preserve non-repetitive noise characteristics for applications that require secure random noise.
Key features include selectable white or pink spectral distribution and dual-level outputs for line and mic applications. Output levels are adjustable from OFF to +8 dBu for line-level and OFF to -40 dBu for mic-level operation. Amplitude limiting circuitry controls extreme peak excursions while preserving at least 20 dB of random variation.
Technical performance is based on truly random analog noise generation rather than pseudo-random digital sequences. The noise bandwidth covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz and spectral options include both white and pink distributions. Output levels include +4 dBu balanced line-level and -45 dBu balanced mic-level nominal outputs.
Connectivity is provided via balanced outputs suitable for line-level or mic-level systems when used with appropriate cabling and interface equipment. Power is 24 Vdc ground-referenced at 30 mA which integrates easily with standard AV power supplies. The ST-NG1 is compact and can be mounted or placed within racks or housings when paired with compatible accessories.
Use cases include audio system calibration, engineered sound masking, and counter-intelligence noise generation where truly random analog noise is required. The non-repetitive analog noise makes it difficult to decode or remove by signal processing compared to pseudo-random digital sources. It is also suitable as a reference noise source for measurements and equipment testing.

The cardboard package is compact and the unit operates in ambient conditions from 0° C to 55° C.
