The ST-DA3 is a compact 1×3 line-level distribution amplifier designed to duplicate and drive one audio input to three outputs while preserving signal fidelity. It accepts balanced or unbalanced line-level signals and provides adjustable gain to match destination equipment. The module is engineered for low distortion and low noise to maintain audio clarity in professional audio and broadcast chains.
Key features include balanced/unbalanced input and outputs, adjustable gain range of unity plus or minus 17 dB, and RF-protected I/O to resist interference. The ST-DA3 delivers nominal +4 dBu balanced output and 6 dB lower unbalanced output, with a maximum output level of +25 dBu. Its wideband circuitry supports full audio bandwidth with exceptional linearity and low THD+N.
Performance specifications include a frequency response of 10 Hz to 100 kHz within ±0.05 dB, THD+N below 0.002% at unity gain, and IMD below 0.003% at unity gain. Measured noise below -4 dBu is better than -98 dB at unity gain, and headroom exceeds 20 dB above +4 dBu. Common-mode rejection is greater than 60 dB in the 50 Hz to 120 Hz band, ensuring robust rejection of hum and low-frequency interference.
Connectivity is straightforward with a single input and three outputs that support balanced 150 Ohm or unbalanced 75 Ohm loads. Inputs and outputs include RF protection to minimize susceptibility to RFI in challenging environments. The unit can be used as a mono distribution amplifier or paired in stereo by deploying two units; it also supports bridging of an audio line for local distribution and impedance conversion where needed.
Typical applications include distributing a program feed to multiple amplifiers or processors, splitting a line-level source to recording devices, and providing local feed bridging in broadcast racks or installed audio systems. The ST-DA3 is suitable for studio patching, FOH distribution, and small broadcast plants where signal integrity is critical. Installation and operation are simple: the module accepts RDL SupplyFlex power input allowing either floating 24 Vdc supply or ground-referenced operation when a jumper ties PWR minus to module ground. The compact module is packaged for easy placement where required and consumes approximately 70 mA at 24 Vdc.
