The ST-CX2S is an active subwoofer crossover designed to extract and shape low-frequency signals from stereo sources. It accepts two isolated balanced bridging inputs that may be wired balanced or unbalanced. The module provides a dedicated subwoofer output with precise equalization to optimize low-frequency reproduction.
Key features include dual isolated inputs, a 150 O balanced output driver, unity gain at 63 Hz, and an adjustable low-frequency BOOST centered at 32 Hz. The BOOST control offers up to +5.5 dB of additional level at 32 Hz while preserving low distortion. High frequency attenuation exceeds 45 dB at 400 Hz to ensure clean subwoofer band separation.
Performance specifications include an output bandwidth of 22 Hz to 80 Hz, THD+N below 0.05 percent, input CMRR greater than 60 dB at 30 Hz and above, and residual noise better than -90 dB referenced to +4 dBu. Headroom is rated at a minimum of 18 dB at 30 Hz with maximum boost and typically 22 dB. The output stage is designed to drive low or high impedance lines, balanced or unbalanced.
Connectivity is straightforward with two isolated balanced bridging inputs and a 150 O balanced line-level output. Inputs accept 50 kO balanced line-level signals at +4 dBu and the output is rated at +4 dBu. Power is supplied using RDL SupplyFlex configuration – compatible with ground-referenced, floating, or bipolar 24 Vdc sources and drawing approximately 30 mA.
The ST-CX2S is suited to installations requiring accurate subwoofer equalization such as installed sound systems, foreground/background audio designs, and compact AV racks. Use it to derive a mono subwoofer feed from stereo material while applying controlled low-frequency boost and steep high-frequency attenuation. It integrates into balanced audio systems and works with both low and high impedance inputs or outputs.
Installation is simple and compact. The module ships in a small cardboard package and is rated for ambient operating environments from 0 C to 55 C.
