Description
The ST-ACR1 is a compact audio controlled relay module designed to switch line-level audio sources. It senses audio levels and operates a DPDT relay when the signal exceeds a user-set threshold. The module is supplied in RDL’s STICK-ON series format for quick installation and reliable operation.
Two multiturn trimmers provide precise control over operation. The SENS control adjusts the input sensitivity across an adjustable range from -30 dBu to 0 dBu and an LED indicates threshold reach. The DELAY control sets the relay release time to prevent chatter when audio drops momentarily.
Performance characteristics include a fast activation response time of 25 ms and a 250 ms retrigger delay for stable switching. The relay release delay is adjustable nominally from 0.5 seconds to 5.0 seconds to suit program dynamics. The relay contacts are DPDT rated for a maximum switching power of 60 W, 125 VA and a maximum switching current of 2 A.
Connectivity supports balanced or unbalanced line-level inputs using a 10 kO balanced bridging input. The module provides an open-collector SLAVE output capable of driving indicators or a slave LCR relay at up to 25 mA. Power is ground-referenced 24 Vdc at nominal 50 mA supply current assuming up to 20 mA load on the SLAVE output.
The ST-ACR1 is suited to broadcast and pro AV tasks that require silence sensing or audio-triggered control. It can be used to switch routing relays, trigger annunciators, or control downstream devices based on program audio presence. Its adjustable sensitivity and delay controls allow tuning to live program levels and transient material.
Installation is simple and reliable with STICK-ON mounting and a compact footprint that fits into racks or small enclosures. The threshold LED and multiturn trimmers make setup fast and repeatable in the field. The ST-ACR1 is built to withstand continuous operation within a 0 C to 55 C ambient range and provides durable DPDT relay contacts for switching line-level sources.
