The SM890i-WX-WH is an 8-inch surface-mount loudspeaker engineered for high-SPL foreground music and sound reinforcement. It combines an 8-inch treated-fiber woofer and a compression horn transducer to provide clear vocal intelligibility and extended dynamic range. The enclosure and hardware are corrosion-resistant for indoor and outdoor installations.
Key features include a high-efficiency 8-inch low-frequency driver, a 36 mm titanium compression high-frequency driver, and the BroadBeamHP waveguide for consistent dispersion. A six-position tap switch with transformer bypass and a 150 W low-insertion-loss transformer support 25/70.7/100 V systems or low-impedance 8 ohm operation. The rotatable bayonet-mounted horn and Stealth bracket enable precise aiming and tailored coverage.
Performance specifications include a frequency response rated at 100 Hz to 22 kHz (-3 dB) and a sensitivity of 93 dB SPL at 1 m/1 W. Maximum continuous RMS power is 150 W with 300 W program power and a 115 dB maximum SPL at 1 m. Directivity values and an averaged coverage of 110° vertical by 80° horizontal ensure even edge-to-edge coverage for speech and music.
Connectivity is handled via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock input for individual or daisy-chain configurations and a weather boot for terminal protection. The speaker supports transformer taps selectable via an easy-access rotary switch and includes a transformer bypass position for direct 8 ohm amplification. Mounting hardware includes a pre-mountable pole and surface bracket plus a safety cable.
The SM890i-WX-WH is suitable for short- to medium-throw PA, foreground music, and voice reinforcement in partially exposed environments. Typical installations include outdoor dining areas, theme parks, retail storefronts, and small performance stages where intelligibility and controlled dispersion are essential. The BroadBeamHP waveguide reduces coverage gaps and improves vocal clarity across listening areas.
Installation is simplified by the tool-free Stealth bracket and bayonet-mounted rotatable horn that allow 0 to 90 degree aiming and rapid deployment. The powder-coated steel grille and die-cast aluminum mounting components deliver long-term corrosion resistance.
