The SM80NU-N is an 8-port Keyboard Mouse (KM) KVM switch that provides isolated peripheral sharing between multiple host computers. It allows a single set of keyboard and mouse plus audio and USB devices to interact with up to eight hosts in real time. The switch keeps host systems isolated while enabling secure control and streamlined workflows.
Key capabilities include shared USB 3.0 ports, integrated 3.5 mm audio jacks, and host-side USB Type B connections to each computer. The unit supports clipboard copy and file transfer between connected hosts without a network connection using standard copy/paste actions. Multi-monitor host systems are supported in duplicate or extended modes when the optional driver is installed on Windows.
Technically, the SM80NU-N features three USB 3.0 Type A console ports and USB Type B connections to hosts, eight selectable sources, and 3.5 mm audio interfaces. Power is provided via an internal supply rated up to 35W max and the device operates from 100 to 240V AC. The switch is certified to CE, RCM, FCC class B, VCCI, TUV US and TUV Canada standards and is supported on Windows, Linux and Mac platforms.
Connectivity includes console USB Type A keyboard/mouse, console audio jack, and per-host USB Type B plus audio jacks. The switch accepts standard USB and audio connectors and exposes USB 3.0 throughput for connected peripherals. System integrators can combine direct video connections to each host while sharing peripherals through the KM switch.
This model is suitable for broadcast control rooms, secure workstations, and multi-system production desks where operators need to control multiple machines from a single peripheral set. It simplifies peripheral provisioning and reduces desktop clutter while preserving host separation. Clipboard text and file transfer enables rapid content exchange without network file shares.
Installation is straightforward – rack or desktop placement, connect host USB Type B and audio, attach console USB and audio, then apply AC power.
