The SM590i-II-WX is a weather-resistant 5.25 inch coaxial surface-mount speaker designed to deliver clear voice and music reproduction in demanding indoor and outdoor environments. It uses a two-way, horn-loaded design to preserve high-frequency detail while the ported enclosure enhances low-frequency response. The enclosure and components are engineered to resist corrosion and water intrusion for long-term outdoor reliability.
Key features include a 5.25 inch polypropylene woofer and a 1.0 inch convex aluminum tweeter with a tractrix-profile horn, offering consistent dispersion across the critical mid-high band. The speaker provides high output capability with a measured maximum SPL of 106 dB and an average sensitivity of 87 dB. An easy-access six-position tap selector supports 25V, 70.7V and 100V installs plus a transformer bypass for low-impedance systems.
In performance terms the SM590i-II-WX delivers a frequency response of 100 Hz to 22 kHz at -3 dB and reaches down to 69 Hz at -10 dB, supporting full-range program material. The loudspeaker handles up to 160 W program power and 80 W RMS continuous power, providing reliable headroom for speech and background music. Coverage is engineered for wide, even dispersion – averaged 80 degrees horizontal and 85 degrees vertical across 2 to 10 kHz.
Connectivity is provided via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock for individual or daisy-chain connections, and the unit includes a weatherproof terminal boot for outdoor wiring. The six-position rotary tap switch is accessible for onsite selection of transformer taps and a bypass position. The enclosure works in low-impedance 8 ohm systems or in distributed constant-voltage systems using the internal transformer.
Typical applications include outdoor dining areas, covered walkways, patios, retail storefronts and aquatic venues where weather resistance and secure mounting are required. The SM590i-II-WX supports high-SPL announcements as well as background music and foreground music duties. Its tractrix horn design helps maintain consistent speech intelligibility across the coverage area.
Installation is simplified by the included Stealth bracket system and security knob, allowing unlimited directional aiming and a low-profile wall mount. Constructed from injection-molded ABS with powder-coated aluminum grille and non-corrosive components, the speaker is built for long service life.
