The SM31-EZ-WH is a 3 inch full-range surface-mount speaker designed to deliver clear voice and music reproduction in compact indoor and outdoor installations. It provides a focused frequency response of 170 Hz-14 kHz and a nominal impedance of 8 ohm for conventional audio systems. The enclosure is low-profile and intended for locations where discreet appearance and stable performance are required.
Precision aiming is provided by an indexed swivel-joint mounting mechanism that permits full hemispherical orientation – 0 to 90 degrees vertical and 0 to 359 degrees axial. The driver is a 76.1 mm polypropylene unit with a butyl rubber surround and a 19 mm voice coil that balances sensitivity and durability. Corrosion-resistant, powder-coated aluminum grille and weatherized components make the cabinet suitable for indoor/outdoor environments.
Performance specifications include 85 dB sensitivity at 1 W/1 m and a maximum continuous RMS rating of 20 W with 40 W program power capability. Maximum SPL at 1 m is 98.0 dB, and directivity metrics indicate controlled coverage averaging 80 degrees from 2 to 10 kHz. The SM31-EZ-WH meets UL 1480 and CE requirements and is RoHS compliant.
Connection is by a screw terminal input for straightforward wiring to amplifiers and distributed audio systems. An optional transformer accessory (AC-SM31-XFMR) adds a five-position tap selector for 25V/70.7V/100V constant-voltage systems and mounts in a single-gang deep junction box. The speaker is available in black or white finishes to match venue aesthetics.
Typical applications include paging and background music in retail, hospitality, corridors, stairwells, and outdoor covered areas where compact size and controlled coverage are necessary.
