Description
The RU-NL4 is a Dante network audio interface that converts four Dante channels to professional line-level outputs. It provides four balanced outputs at a nominal +4 dBu level mapped to -18 dBFS network level. The unit is designed for commercial installations requiring networked digital audio distribution.
Each of the four outputs is driven by high-resolution 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion and RDL analog filtering for clean audio reproduction. Signal LEDs on the front panel indicate received audio level for each Dante channel to aid setup and troubleshooting. Network sync and link indicators show Ethernet and Dante status during operation.
Performance specifications include a flat 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response within +/- 0.5 dB and THD+N below 0.05%. The noise floor is specified below -80 dB when outputs are active and below -95 dB when muted, while crosstalk remains below the noise floor across the audio band. The design provides greater than 18 dB of headroom above the nominal +4 dBu output level.
Connectivity is provided via an RJ45 network connector supporting Dante audio at 100 Mbps and balanced detachable terminal block outputs for each channel. The RU-NL4 supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates and operates at 24-bit depth. Power is supplied by an external 24 Vdc adapter; the RU-NL4P variant supports PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af and will reserve PoE when externally powered.
Common applications include integration into distributed audio systems, rack or shelf mounting in equipment rooms, and localized line-level feeds for amplifiers, mixers, or recording devices. The RU-NL4 is optimized for installations where low noise, low distortion, and consistent Dante channel mapping are required. It is also suitable for conference rooms, houses of worship, corporate audio, and fixed-install AV systems.
The enclosure is a durable all-metal chassis engineered for continuous duty and flexible mounting – free-standing, surface mount, or rack mount.
