Description
The RU-NL2P is a Dante network audio interface that converts two Dante channels to professional balanced line-level outputs. It provides nominal +4 dBu outputs at a network digital level of -18 dBFS and uses high-resolution 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion. The unit is designed for continuous duty in commercial and industrial AV installations and ships in an all-metal enclosure.
Key features include two balanced detachable terminal-block outputs, front-panel signal LEDs for each Dante channel, network sync indicators and RJ45 link/speed indicators. The RU-NL2P supports PoE operation and will also accept an external 24 Vdc supply while reserving PoE power on the network. Outputs mute automatically when digital inputs are inactive to prevent noise in downstream equipment.
Performance specifications include 24-bit conversion, sample rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz (default), THD+N under 0.05% and frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz ±0.5 dB. Noise floor specifications show less than -80 dB when outputs are active and less than -95 dB when muted, with more than 18 dB of headroom above nominal +4 dBu. Crosstalk is specified below the noise floor across the audio band for clean channel separation.
Connectivity is provided by an RJ45 Dante network port with link and speed LEDs and two balanced outputs on a detachable terminal block for easy wiring. Power options include PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af and a 24 Vdc external supply via a power jack or detachable terminal block. The RU-NL2P will operate from the external supply and seamlessly switch to PoE if external power is lost, while still reserving PoE power when externally powered.
The RU-NL2P is suited to distributed audio installations such as conference rooms, houses of worship, commercial paging systems and local audio distribution where Dante is used as the network transport. It integrates into Dante ecosystems and pairs directly with mixers, DSPs and amplifiers that accept +4 dBu line-level inputs. Its compact footprint and mounting options make it easy to locate near endpoint equipment for simplified signal routing.
Installation is straightforward – rack mount, surface mount or free-stand the all-metal chassis and connect the network and balanced outputs. Front-panel LEDs assist setup when a networked computer is not present at the module location and the detachable terminal blocks simplify wiring and serviceability. The unit is engineered and manufactured in the U.S.A to provide reliable continuous operation in demanding AV environments.
