The RU-MLB2P is a compact 2×2 bi-directional Dante network audio interface that connects microphones and line-level sources to Dante networks and provides balanced line outputs from Dante channels. It supports 24-bit conversion and standard sample rates to integrate with professional AV systems. The unit is designed for rack, shelf, or surface mounting for commercial installations.
The module converts two mic or line inputs into Dante network channels and converts two Dante channels to balanced +4 dBu line outputs. Each input is selectable between mic and line and supports automatic microphone gain switching of 40 dB for condenser microphones and 60 dB for dynamic microphones. P48 phantom power is provided on each mic input to support condenser microphones.
Audio performance uses 24-bit analog to digital and digital to analog converters and supports 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz sample rates with a default of 48 kHz. Network operating level is -18 dBFS equals +4 dBu and outputs provide greater than 18 dB headroom. Distortion and noise specifications deliver professional audio quality with THD+N below 0.1% on inputs and below 0.05% on outputs.
Network connectivity is via a single RJ45 port using Dante over 100 Mbps Ethernet. The RU-MLB2P supports PoE Class 0 IEEE 802.3af for network-powered operation and will also accept an external 24 Vdc supply while retaining PoE standby capability. Front-panel LEDs indicate input and received signal levels, network link and sync status, and power presence to aid installation and troubleshooting.
This module is intended for use in conference rooms, lecture halls, houses of worship, broadcast facilities, and distributed audio systems where microphone and line sources must be routed over Dante networks. It provides simple integration for converting legacy analog signals to network audio and returning network channels to balanced line outputs. The automatic mic gain and selectable input types reduce setup time and eliminate the need for per-channel gain adjustments during microphone changes.
Built in an all-metal enclosure, the RU-MLB2P is engineered for continuous duty in commercial installations and supports rack or surface mounting. Installation is straightforward using detachable terminal blocks for audio connections and a standard IEC style of network connector. The unit is manufactured in the U.S.A and designed for long-term reliability in professional AV installations.
