The RS62-EZ is a 6.5 inch coaxial open-ceiling speaker engineered to provide clear speech and music reproduction in indoor and protected outdoor spaces. It features a BroadBeam Ring technology on the high-frequency driver to increase dispersion and improve coverage. The speaker is available in a paintable white finish to integrate discreetly into ceilings.
Key features include a 6.5 inch polypropylene low-frequency driver, a 1.0 inch silk dome high-frequency driver, and BroadBeam Ring technology for wider HF dispersion. The enclosure is injection molded ABS reinforced with glass fiber and a powder-coated aluminum grille protects the drivers. Weatherized components extend service life in exposed installations.
Performance specifications include a nominal impedance of 16 ohm, sensitivity of 86.0 dB at 2.83 V/1 m and 89.0 dB at 1 W/1 m, frequency response of 100 Hz – 22 kHz (-3 dB) and program power handling up to 64 W. The speaker includes a 32 W transformer for 25/70.7/100 volt operation with a transformer bypass position for direct voice-coil drive. A built-in thermal fuse provides added protection against overheating.
Connectivity and control are provided via a four-position ceramic terminal block and a six-position rotary tap selector for 25/70.7/100 volt lines plus transformer bypass. The unit ships with hanging hardware, a weather plug and a locking cover plate that enables direct-to-conduit mounting. The enclosure supports UL 1480 UEAY and UL 2239 listings and complies with CE and RoHS standards.
Typical use cases include background music and paging in retail environments, outdoor covered areas, lobbies and transit shelters where open-ceiling mounting is preferred. The speaker’s BroadBeam dispersion and 16 ohm option make it suitable for low-impedance systems and distributed ceiling installations. Its weatherized components make it appropriate for semi-exposed or canopy installations.
Installation is simplified with included galvanized hanging cables, a hanging bracket and a screw-on cover plate for secure mounting. The paintable grille and durable ABS construction allow long-term aesthetic and mechanical reliability.
