The RS500i is a 5.25 inch coaxial open-ceiling speaker designed to deliver broad, even audio coverage in indoor and protected outdoor spaces. It combines a polypropylene woofer and a titanium tweeter mounted on a cast-aluminum motor board to produce clear full-range audio. The speaker is available in white or black finishes and includes hanging hardware for ceiling installation.
Key features include SoundTube BroadBeam waveguide technology for consistent dispersion up to 10 kHz and a six-position tap selector for 25 V / 70.7 V / 100 V applications plus a transformer bypass position. The driver system uses FerroFluid cooling on the tweeter and a ported enclosure design to extend low-frequency response. Weatherized components and a plated steel grille provide durability in varied environments.
Performance specifications include a nominal impedance of 8 ohm, sensitivity of 86.5 dB, frequency response of 87 Hz to 22 kHz (-3 dB) and extended response to 61 Hz at -10 dB. Power handling is rated at 75 watts RMS and 150 watts program with a maximum UL rating of 50 watts. Measured maximum SPL is 105.5 dB at 1 m and coverage averages near 95 degrees between 2 and 10 kHz.
Connectivity is provided via a four-pin 5.08 mm Euroblock for individual or daisy-chain connections and includes a terminal weather boot for outdoor-protected use. The six-position rotary tap switch simplifies integration into distributed audio systems and the transformer bypass allows low-impedance operation. The package includes UL listed hanging hardware with SpeedClamp self-locking wire grip for secure suspension.
The RS500i is suited to background and foreground music, paging and distributed audio systems in hospitality, retail, corporate and education spaces. Its BroadBeam waveguide reduces the number of speakers required to cover an area while maintaining intelligibility across the listening plane. Weatherized components and optional surface-mount bracket expand deployment options in semi-exposed locations.
