The ROI-SDI-R0 is a compact 3G-SDI to 3G-SDI and HDMI converter that extracts and scales a selectable Region of Interest – ideal for tailoring image composition without changing the source. It performs scan conversion and aspect ratio management while preserving image fidelity through AJA’s high quality scaling algorithms. The unit supports SD, HD and 3G formats to match a broad range of production signals.
Key features include Region of Interest scaling, up/down/cross conversion, frame rate conversion and H/V image flip and 90 degree rotation. The converter supports deinterlaced and progressive conversion and includes loss of input handling options set to Black, Freeze or Mute. Audio capabilities include support for 8 channels of embedded audio and an analog stereo RCA output for monitoring.
Performance covers a wide set of video formats including 1080i, 1080p and 720p in multiple frame rates plus SD 625i and 525i formats. Outputs mirror to both 3G-SDI and HDMI Type A (HDMI 1.4) and support SMPTE mapping for accurate color and timing. The unit accepts tri-level sync and color black reference sources and can run in Free Run, External Reference or SDI reference modes.
Connectivity is straightforward with a 3G-SDI input plus loop through, 3G-SDI output and HDMI output, and a reference input for genlock. Control is provided via a USB port using AJA Mini-Config software on Mac or Windows, allowing interactive ROI selection and scaling control. A stereo RCA pair provides disembedded analog audio output for simple monitoring setups.
Typical use cases include extracting and reframing camera images for display walls, feeding mirrored SDI and HDMI destinations in live production, and generating synchronized multi-screen video walls when combined with routing equipment. The ROI feature makes it possible to repurpose a single high-resolution feed across multiple displays while maintaining precise framing and scaling. The device is small enough to integrate into camera rigs, monitor backs or compact rack locations.
Setup is quick thanks to USB configuration and the supplied universal power supply that accepts 100-240V AC and provides 5-20V DC to the unit. The durable metal enclosure, locking power connector and optional P-TAP power capability support field deployments and tethered installations. Difference between tracking number provided by UPS vs USPS Delivery Confirmation number is: Delivery Confirmation status is updated when the delivery has been made or when the package has made it through major USPS stations.
