The RE3 handheld wireless vocal microphone set combines a rugged dynamic supercardioid mic head and a UHF handheld transmitter/receiver platform – designed to deliver reliable stage vocals and spoken-word reinforcement. This product covers the 488 – 524 MHz 5L band and provides selectable 10 and 50 mW transmit power to suit short and long range applications. The set focuses on intelligibility and feedback control for live sound environments.
The mic head features a large Mylar diaphragm dynamic capsule and a tight supercardioid pattern that reduces off-axis pickup and improves gain-before-feedback. A selectable presence tuning adjusts low-mid attenuation and upper-midrange emphasis to improve vocal clarity in high-energy mixes. The capsule includes a four-point suspension and tuned pneumatic base to reduce handling noise and mechanical vibration artifacts.
The handheld transmitter uses a commonly adopted 1.25 inch diameter by 28 UN-2A thread pitch coupling for easy head interchangeability and a floating captured ID collar for orienting head branding. The transmitter runs on two AA alkaline or NiMH cells and provides ultrasonic sync for quick frequency and parameter matching to the receiver. Recharging contacts support the optional BC2 charging station for in-situ battery charging workflows.
The rack-mount diversity receiver occupies 1/2 space and offers frequency scanning, synchronization and selectable tuning in 25 kHz steps to locate clear operating channels. Dual antenna diversity minimizes dropouts by switching between antenna inputs based on signal strength and stability. The front-panel LCD displays frequency, signal status and transmitter parameters for fast monitoring and control.
This set is well suited to live vocalists, presenters and rental houses requiring robust mechanical protection and moisture resistance. The Memraflex heavy-duty grille and hydrophobic capsule membrane protect against rough handling and moisture ingress during intensive use. A humbucking coil in the capsule reduces AC hum and electromagnetic interference when used near speaker cabinets or equipment racks.
Installation and setup are straightforward – the threaded mic head coupling makes head changes quick and the ultrasonic sync automates frequency matching to the receiver.
