Description
The PT-120xl is a compact twisted pair receiver designed to convert a balanced twisted pair video link into a standard VGA/UXGA output. It receives a signal from a compatible Kramer transmitter such as the WP-110 and restores computer graphics and HDTV signals at the far end of the link. The unit is built to extend video over UTP or STP cables to long distances while preserving image detail.
The receiver is HDTV compatible and supports resolutions up to WUXGA and 1080p. It provides Level (gain) and EQ (peaking) controls to adjust signal amplitude and frequency response for long cable runs. The Power Connect feature allows a single power source to feed both transmitter and receiver when they are within 150ft (50m) of each other.
Performance specifications include a maximum output level of 1.3Vpp and level control adjustable from 0.7V to 1.3V at 300m. The EQ control offers peaking compensation up to 120MHz for 300m links. The receiver uses DC coupling and draws 12V DC at up to 350mA.
Connectivity includes a single RJ-45 twisted pair input and a 15-pin HD VGA/UXGA output connector. The system is compatible with standard UTP or STP cable such as CAT5 and with Kramer WP series transmitters and other compatible transmitters. The compact PicoTOOLS form factor allows multiple units to be mounted side-by-side in a 1U rack using the RK-4PT adapter.
Typical applications include presentation and multimedia systems, long-range graphics distribution in schools and hospitals, and security monitoring installations requiring remote VGA distribution. The receiver is optimized for situations that demand extended cable runs while keeping video quality intact. It supports distribution of high-resolution computer graphics and HDTV content across structured cabling.
Installation is straightforward thanks to its small footprint and simple control layout for level and EQ adjustments. The unit operates in standard indoor temperature and humidity ranges and ships with a power supply. The rugged PicoTOOLS enclosure and optional rack adapter make it practical for both standalone desktop placement and consolidated rack installations.
