The WP-SW2-EN7 is a wall plate AVoIP encoder designed to stream and switch 4K video over a 1GbE network – it provides a compact installation form factor for AV over IP deployments. This unit accepts HDMI and USB-C sources and can embed analog audio into both the HDMI output and the network stream. The product targets installations that need source switching at the room edge while delivering low-latency streaming to networked decoders.
Key features include dual inputs (1x HDMI, 1x USB-C), selectable auto switching policies, and multicast/unicast streaming support – the encoder supports HDCP 2.2 and HDR10. It offers embedded analog audio via a 3.5mm jack and supports common audio formats including LPCM, Dolby, and DTS. The unit supports PoE power or an optional 20V DC supply for flexible deployment options.
Technically the WP-SW2-EN7 streams up to 4K60 4:2:0 over a 1GbE interface while internal processing and some video modes operate at up to 4K30 4:4:4 depending on codec settings. The proprietary JPEG2000-based stream and visually lossless codec keep bandwidth efficient with peak bitrate up to 850Mbps and typical 4K average around 350Mbps. End-to-end latency measures approximately 33ms and switching time is about 1 second.
Connectivity includes 2x RJ-45 network ports, 1x HDMI input, 1x USB-C input, 1x 3.5mm analog audio input, and RS-232 control via a 3-pin terminal block. Control options include an intuitive web UI, Protocol 3000 API over Ethernet, front panel LCD and navigation buttons, and a control gateway that bridges RS-232 and CEC via P3K or a dedicated TCP connection. The encoder supports IGMP snooping for efficient multicast operation on Layer 2 networks.
This wall plate encoder is suited to command and control rooms, lecture halls, corporate AV distribution, and public venues where many displays receive streamed sources. It supports centralized management and scales in large AVoIP systems while enabling room-edge source switching and USB-C charging when connected to a powered USB-C source. The small Decora style wall plate format integrates into standard 2-gang installations.
Installation is straightforward using PoE power or the optional 20V DC supply and the unit uses convection ventilation for passive cooling. The front panel channel display and recessed change buttons simplify local operation and factory reset functions are included. Rugged SGCC steel and polycarbonate construction and compliance with CE and FCC provide a reliable fit into commercial AV systems.
