Kramer BC-DGKat7a23 is a four-pair CAT7a S/FTP bulk data cable supplied on a 1000ft pull box. The cable is built for balanced twisted-pair digital transmitter/receiver systems and network installations that require shielded performance. It is optimized to support 10GBase-T signals and PoE+ power delivery.
The cable features individually foil-shielded pairs plus an overall tinned-copper braid shield – providing robust noise rejection and ground continuity. It uses 23AWG solid copper conductors and includes a drain conductor to aid termination and shield connection. The construction supports stable impedance and low crosstalk across the specified frequency range.
Electrical performance covers 1 to 1200MHz frequency range with a nominal impedance of 100 Ohm and a propagation velocity of 80 percent. Attenuation is specified across multiple frequencies including -15.7dB per 100ft at 100MHz and -52.7dB per 100ft at 1000MHz. Maximum propagation delay skew is 20ns per 100m, and capacitance is 1.2pF per meter max.
Termination requires shielded RJ-45 connectors specified for 23AWG solid conductors to maintain the shield and mechanical reliability. The conductor color code is standard white/blue, white/orange, white/green, white/brown for straightforward terminations. The cable is compatible with Kramer twisted-pair transmitter/receiver sets and other shielded network hardware when properly terminated.
Typical applications include high-speed Ethernet links, AV over twisted-pair extenders, and PoE+ powered devices where shielded performance is required. Use it for runs that demand wider bandwidth and tighter EMI immunity than lower category cables. It is suitable for structured cabling in equipment racks, conference rooms, and signal distribution systems.
The cable is rated for an operating temperature range of -40C to +65C and meets IEC 61156 and ISO/IEC 11801 standards as well as RoHS 2011/65/EU compliance. The reel packaging simplifies pull installations and storage. Proper termination and grounding of the shield will maximize signal integrity and PoE reliability.
