The Electro-Voice EVF-1122S/126 is an arrayable, point-source two-way loudspeaker designed to provide controlled 120 x 60 coverage and consistent sonic performance in indoor or protected outdoor installations. It combines a 12in low-frequency transducer and a 2in compression driver on a rotatable horn to deliver clear mid and high frequencies and defined low-end extension. The enclosure is constructed from weather-resistant plywood and finished with EVCoat for enhanced protection from the elements.
Key features include a rotatable 12in x 12in CD horn, a 2in titanium diaphragm compression driver with a 1.4in throat, and an FEA-optimized 12in LF transducer. The system uses an integrated 4th-order acoustic crossover at 1,450 Hz and a dynamic protection circuit to safeguard both LF and HF sections from thermal overload. The speaker supports switchable bi-amp or passive operation and accepts a Phoenix-type input panel that can handle up to 10AWG connections.
Performance specifications show a very linear response profile with frequency response figures indicating useful output from the mid-bass through high frequencies. The published frequency response ranges and sensitivity support a high maximum SPL, suitable for speech reinforcement and music playback. The internal passive crossover, 24 dB/octave slope, and HF protection help preserve clarity and prevent driver stress under sustained program material.
Connectivity and install options include Euroblock (Phoenix) input connectors by default, and optional input-panel covers or gland-nut covers for weatherized PI and FG versions. The enclosure includes 22 M10 threaded suspension points and an EBK-M10-EVI kit of four forged eyebolts is included for basic flying. An externally accessible jumper allows quick selection between active and passive operation modes.
Typical applications include small to medium-sized performance spaces, houses of worship, corporate A/V systems, and outdoor protected PA where controlled vertical and horizontal coverage is required. The trapezoidal enclosure and arrayability allow vertical or horizontal clustering with other EVF and EVH Series cabinets to tailor directivity and SPL distribution. The EN54-24 certification and IP44 rating for standard versions make it suitable for specified safety installations and semi-protected external deployments.
Installation and durability are emphasized through a 13-ply birch enclosure, black textured protective finish, galvanneal grille with acoustic screen, and stainless steel fasteners. Recommended high-pass filtering and environmental limits such as maximum sustained humidity and salt content are provided to ensure long-term reliability.
