The Electro-Voice EVF-1122D/96 is a two-way point-source loudspeaker designed to deliver clear, intelligible sound in medium-throw environments. It combines a 12in low-frequency transducer and a 3in titanium compression driver on a 90 x 60 rotatable waveguide to produce focused coverage. The speaker is built to meet fixed-install requirements and withstand challenging conditions when specified in weatherized versions.
Key features include a 12in DVX3121A woofer and a DH7N 3in titanium compression driver coupled to a constant directivity horn. The integrated passive crossover uses steep 24 dB/octave slopes and a 1300 Hz acoustic crossover point. An onboard protection circuit provides thermal protection for long-term reliability.
Performance specifications include a frequency range extending to low frequencies near 49 Hz and high frequencies up to 21 kHz, with a linear response in the vocal range. Sensitivity is specified at 97 dB 1 W/1 m and calculated maximum SPL is 131 dB. Power handling ratings are 600 W continuous, 1200 W program, and 2400 W peak for passive operation.
Connectivity is provided via a Euroblock input panel with provision for Phoenix connectors and optional gland-nut covers for weatherized installations. An externally accessible jumper allows selection of passive or active operation and the input panel accepts an optional 70.7/100 V transformer kit. The enclosure supports standard rigging points and optional flying hardware for fixed installs.
Typical applications include installed sound in auditoriums, houses of worship, and sports facilities where controlled coverage and speech intelligibility are priority. The rotatable horn enables orientation for either horizontal or vertical clusters and integration with other EVF/EVH series cabinets for array configurations. System designers can pair this cabinet with matching low-frequency and subwoofer options to scale coverage and LF extension.
Built from 13-ply weather-resistant birch and finished with EVCoat or black textured paint, the EVF-1122D/96 balances acoustic performance with durable construction. The cabinet features a powder-coated steel or stainless grille backed with acoustic foam and stainless fasteners on PI/FG versions for corrosion resistance. Installation and configuration are simplified by external switches, multi-pin connectors, and standardized suspension points.
