Description
The EVF-1122D/66-PIW is a weatherized two-way point-source loudspeaker engineered for fixed installs that require controlled coverage and reliable outdoor performance. It combines a 12in low-frequency transducer and a 3in titanium compression driver on a 60 x 60 constant directivity horn. The enclosure and protective coatings are designed to withstand environmental exposure while delivering consistent audio clarity.
Key features include a rotatable 12in x 12in constant directivity horn, a 3in DH7N titanium compression driver, and an FEA-optimized 12in woofer for low distortion. The integrated crossover is acoustically set at 1.3 kHz and uses steep 24 dB/octave slopes with HF protection. The cabinet supports switchable bi-amp or passive operation to suit amplifier and system preferences.
Performance specifications include a very linear frequency response from 49 Hz to 21 kHz and a sensitivity of 97 dB 1 W/1 m. Maximum sustained SPL is calculated at 131 dB and continuous/program/peak power handling is 600 / 1200 / 2400 watts respectively. The internal passive crossover and dynamic protection circuitry provide thermal protection for both the HF and LF sections.
Connectivity is handled through a Phoenix-style euroblock input with provision for dual-gland-nut input-panel covers on PI and FG versions. The input panel accepts large-gauge wiring up to 10 AWG and includes an externally accessible jumper to switch between passive and active/bi-amp modes. Optional NL4 cover plates and a 70.7/100-V transformer kit can be fitted for distributed systems.
This loudspeaker is suitable for a wide range of installation scenarios including outdoor paging, house-of-worship front fill, small to medium distributed systems, and permanent AV installs requiring weather resistance. The 60 x 60 coverage pattern and rotatable horn allow flexible orientation for horizontal or vertical arraying with other EVF and EVH series elements. The trapezoidal cabinet geometry aids array building and stage placement.
Installation is simplified by 22 M10 suspension points and optional flying hardware, with one EBK-M10-EVI kit of four forged eyebolts included. The enclosure is constructed from 13-ply birch plywood and finished in white textured EVCoat paint for enhanced weather protection. The full-face powder-coated steel grille is backed with acoustic foam and stainless steel fasteners provide corrosion resistance.
Overall, the EVF-1122D/66-PIW delivers controlled 60 x 60 coverage, high SPL capability, and weatherized construction for long-term reliability in installed audio applications. The combination of FEA-optimized low-frequency performance, a titanium compression driver, and robust protective features makes it a straightforward choice for integrators seeking predictable coverage and durable build quality. This speaker balances acoustic performance and environmental resilience to meet demanding installation requirements.
