The OG-FiDO-R-12G-ST is a single-channel fiber-to-12G-SDI receiver designed to bring long-distance SMPTE-compliant SDI signals into openGear frames. It accepts single-mode ST fiber and converts optical signals into a reclocked 12G-SDI output for downstream devices. The module supports a broad range of SDI rates including 12G, and is built for live production and broadcast environments.
Key capabilities include format-agnostic operation from 270 Mbps up to 12 Gbps, automatic detection and reclocking of supported SDI rates, and HDR signal support. The card uses a locking ST barrel connector for secure fiber connections and includes the appropriate single-mode SFP. LEDs indicate input presence and SMPTE lock for fast, reliable status checks.
Performance specifications include optical sensitivity thresholds and overload limits suitable for 6G and 12G operation, plus support for legacy SD/HD/3G/6G rates. The receiver can extend 12G-SDI over single-mode fiber to distances up to 10 km. Reclocking is automatic for common SDI rates to maintain low jitter and robust downstream timing.
Connectivity is provided via a single ST fiber input and dual matching 12G-SDI BNC outputs including an SDI loop-out. The card is hot-swappable and compatible with AJA openGear frames such as OG-X-FR, OG-3-FR, and DFR-8321. Remote monitoring and control are available through Ross DashBoard on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Typical applications include remote camera feeds, OB vans, stadiums, and studio-to-gallery links where long fiber runs and reliable SDI transport are required. The OG-FiDO-R-12G-ST is suited for high-density openGear racks that centralize I/O near production facilities.
