The OG-ROI-DVI is an openGear DVI to 3G-SDI scan converter that extracts and converts computer video to SDI for broadcast and production environments. It provides precise Region of Interest (ROI) selection and high-quality scaling to match SDI output formats. The card is designed for rackframe deployment and supports DashBoard control for quick configuration.
Key features include interactive ROI selection, frame rate conversion, and conversion between deinterlaced and progressive sources. The unit uses AJA scaling algorithms to preserve image detail while resizing computer desktop regions to standard video formats. Users can also control aspect ratio, image rotation and scaling parameters from the DashBoard interface.
OG-ROI-DVI accepts DVI inputs up to 1920 x 1200p 60 Hz and produces configurable SDI outputs from 525i 29.97 up to 1920 x 1080p 60 Hz. Audio embedding supports 2-channel balanced analog inputs or up to 8-channel DVI audio for synchronized routing. The converter provides genlock/reference input to ensure SDI outputs remain locked to facility timing.
Connectivity includes direct DVI loop-through so a monitor can remain connected while the SDI feed is extracted. The modular rear connector module is included and the card is compatible with OGX, OG3 and DFR-8321 openGear frames. DashBoard control is available on macOS, Windows and Linux to configure ROI, audio embedding and output formatting.
Typical applications include live events and broadcast studios that need to integrate computer graphics and presentation signals into SDI workflows. It is also suitable for signal conversion in control rooms, corporate AV and houses of worship where cropping and scaling of desktop content is required. The ROI feature eliminates desktop clutter and lets operators extract only the required portion of the source image.
Installation and operation are optimized for openGear frames: the card is hot-swappable, supports optional redundant power in the frame and integrates into IP-based DashBoard monitoring.
