Description
The OG-FiDO-2T is an openGear compatible transmitter that converts two independent 3G-SDI channels to singlemode LC fiber for long-distance links. It supports video formats from 150 Mbps up to 3 Gbps and extends signals up to 10 km over standard single mode fiber. The module is designed for high-density openGear frames and remote monitoring via DashBoard.
The card provides two fully independent 3G-SDI inputs on BNC connectors and two corresponding singlemode LC optical outputs. Each channel supports auto-detection and re-clocking for standard 270 Mbps, 1.483 Gbps, 1.485 Gbps, 2.966 Gbps and 2.970 Gbps rates. Non-standard rates are passed through without re-clocking to preserve signal integrity.
Technical specifics include a 1310 nm wavelength optical output and an optical power range of -5 dBm to 0 dBm. The transmitter consumes approximately 2.5 watts of power and is hot-swap capable for live frame maintenance. LED indicators report input presence and SMPTE lock status to simplify monitoring.
Connectivity and control are provided through native openGear DashBoard support on Windows, macOS and Linux for configuration and remote monitoring. The fiber connector is mounted on the main card for improved reliability and simplified integration. The card is compatible with OGX, OG3 and DFR-8321 openGear frames for flexible deployment.
Typical applications include broadcast signal distribution, remote studio links, and live event feeds where fiber runs exceed coaxial limits. The independent channels allow mixed-format transport and flexible routing across fiber links. The OG-FiDO-2T is suited to system topologies requiring low-latency, long-distance SDI transport.
Installation is straightforward – the module is hot-swappable and designed for standard openGear 2RU frames, enabling quick replacement and upgrades. DashBoard integration reduces on-site configuration time and supports networked control workflows.
