The OG-12GDA-2×4 is a dual-channel 12G-SDI distribution amplifier designed for openGear frames. It duplicates two independent 12G-SDI inputs into four matched outputs each, providing eight total 12G-SDI outputs. The module is engineered for broadcast and pro AV racks where density and signal integrity are critical.
Key features include automatic input equalization and automatic output reclocking to maintain signal quality across cable runs. The card is format agnostic and supports video rates from 270 Mbps to 12 Gbps, and it passes embedded audio and ancillary data including closed caption and timecode. HDR video formats are supported, ensuring compatibility with modern high-dynamic-range workflows.
Performance-wise the OG-12GDA-2×4 tolerates input jitter and reclocks outputs to deliver stable signals to downstream equipment. Two 12G-SDI BNC inputs feed eight noninverting 12G-SDI BNC outputs via the included 10x rear connector module. The unit consumes 4.5 watts of power and is hot swappable for minimal service interruption in populated frames.
Connectivity and control are provided through openGear frame management and AJA DashBoard software on Windows, macOS and Linux. The card is compatible with high-density openGear 2RU frames including AJA OG-X-FR and supports DashBoard integration for remote configuration and monitoring. Optional per-card Ethernet access can be installed in compatible frames for advanced card-level communication.
This distribution amplifier is ideal for broadcast routing, signal distribution to monitors and recorders, and feeding multiple downstream systems from a single source. The dual-input design doubles DA density in constrained frame space and simplifies signal management in OB vans, racks and broadcast facilities.
