The NHD-500-TX v2 is a professional HDMI 2.0 encoder that converts HDMI sources into low-latency IP streams for distribution over Ethernet or fiber. It supports 4K60 4:4:4 8-bit video and advanced HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG. The unit includes a local HDMI loop output for monitoring and integration into control systems.
Key features include full HDMI 2.0 encoding, Dolby Vision/HDR passthrough, USB 2.0 support, and audio de-embedding. The encoder supports both 1GbE RJ45 and SFP fiber outputs, providing flexible transport options up to 550m on OM3 multimode fiber or longer on singlemode. Ultra-low latency performance and JPEG 2000 encoding ensure reliable, high-quality streams for AV distribution.
Performance specifications include support for 5120x2160p@50/60Hz 4:2:0 CVT and 4096x2160p@60Hz 8-bit 4:4:4 formats, a maximum pixel clock of 600MHz, and encoding data rates up to 850Mbps. End-to-end latency is as low as 4ms in passthrough mode and 1-2 video frames in scaler or video wall modes. Audio passthrough supports multichannel formats including Dolby Atmos and DTS:X where applicable.
Connectivity covers HDMI 2.0 I/O, ARC via HDMI for return audio, S/PDIF, balanced 5-pin audio, USB 2.0 Type B for host devices, and up to two USB Type A ports on the receiver side. Control and automation options include IR TX/RX jacks, a 3-pin RS-232 phoenix connector, SSH and HTTPS secure management, and compatibility with NetworkHD Touch and Sygma Cloud device management. PoE+ support simplifies power and network cabling where available.
Typical applications include distributed AV systems, digital signage, lecture capture, conference rooms, and large video walls up to 16×16 screens. The encoder supports bezel compensation and rotated-screen mosaics for complex video wall layouts. Its Dante AV-A/AES67 compatibility provides an AES67-capable audio-over-IP option for integrated audio workflows.
Installation is straightforward with both rack and wall mounting options, a compact metal chassis, and standard AV connectors. Firmware updates and device monitoring are available via Sygma Cloud for remote management.
