The NHD-500-IW-TX v2 is an in-wall 2-gang encoder designed to deliver low-latency AV over IP distribution in classrooms, meeting rooms and shared spaces. It accepts native HDMI and USB-C inputs and encodes video using JPEG 2000 for transport across 1GbE networks. The device supports modern content types including Dolby Vision and HDR formats.
Key features include HDMI and USB-C switching with auto or manual selection, integrated USB extension for remote peripherals, and USB-C power delivery up to 60W when used with the external 20V 6A adapter. The encoder supports full 4K60 4:4:4 8bit or RGB content and HDR variants, making it compatible with a wide range of laptops and mobile devices. Networked audio and a dedicated 3.5mm analog input provide flexible audio options.
Performance is tuned for low latency – 4ms pass-through at 4K60 or 1-2 frames in scaler mode – and a maximum configurable encoding data rate of 850Mbps. Maximum pixel clock is 600MHz and multiple high-resolution formats are supported up to 5120x2160p CVT. Security protocols include AES-256 encryption along with SSH and HTTPS for secure management.
Connectivity is comprehensive: HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.2 and EDID support, USB-C host (up to 200Mbps upstream), 1x 1GbE RJ45, bidirectional RS-232 on 3.5mm, and PoE compatibility (802.3af) or 20V DC 6A external power. The USB extension allows remote access to conference cameras, interactive displays and other peripherals over the NetworkHD system. Control and monitoring integrate with Sygma Cloud Device Management and the NHD-CTL-PRO controller.
The encoder is housed behind a white Decora face plate in a compact 2-gang footprint that installs in walls, tables or podiums. It supports multicast scaling for large deployments and batch firmware/update capabilities to simplify rollouts. Built-in PoE support reduces cabling requirements and keeps the front profile clean for aesthetic installations.
